The capital of Portugal is one of Europe’s major economic centres with a growing financial sector and one of the largest container ports on Europe’s Atlantic coast. While being one of the oldest cities in the world, it has a very young and modern workforce that is sure to come out strong of the european recession and will be a driver of success in southern Europe.
Despite a strong IT sector and many Oracle clients and users, there has not been a local Portuguese user group so far but a group of Oracle professionals around Luis Maques is determined to change this, found a proper local user group organization and build and grow a strong local community. The inital assembly of the OUGPT is scheduled for early June of 2015 and the OTN tour event is meant to kick off these efforts. ACE Director speakers are thought to draw in local DBAs and Oracle users and ignite what will hopefully lead to many more locally organized events in the region.
The event takes place on May 21st 2015 and the location is the Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal’s largest and most reputed school of Engineering, Science and Technology. The room is downstairs at the Pavalho Civil.
Attendance is free of charge but we ask you to please sign up and register.
