Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. Its central geographic location within Slovenia, transport connections, concentration of industry, scientific and research institutions, and cultural tradition are contributing factors to its leading position. It also represents an ideal departure point for the discovery of all the variety Slovenia has to offer. The unique Karst region, the Adriatic coast, the mountains, the hilly wine-growing regions, the spas, and many historic towns are all within a two-hour drive.
Although small compared to other European countries, Slovenia has an active Oracle users group, SIOUG. In addition to 21 annual conferences, the user group also organizes DBA and APEX meetups, in 2016 it hosted a very interesting and well attended 4-day Real World Performance training. SIOUG is proud to host the OTN EMEA Tour 2017 event in Slovenia, which will take place on May 23 in the city of Ljubljana.
